(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following an intimate partner violence investigation.

Lanark County OPP officers began an investigation of intimate partner violence on Monday, August 25, 2025. Police took a statement regarding incidents that had occurred between December 31, 2023, and August 17, 2025.

As a result of investigation, a 33-year-old man from Tay Valley Township has been charged with:

  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Assault - two counts
  • Uttering threats
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Sexual assault - five counts
  • Intimidation

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
