Deemed a Homicide, Targeted Incident, Park Reopened

(PERTH, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has identified the deceased following a suspicious death in Perth that has been ruled a homicide.

On Sunday, April 12, 2026, at approximately 3:15 pm, officers responded to Last Duel Park, where one person was located with life-threatening injuries. The individual was transported to a trauma centre and later pronounced deceased.

The identity of the deceased has been confirmed and will be withheld until next of kin can be notified.

Police believe this incident was targeted, with no signs of a broader threat. The park has reopened, and there is no longer a heavy police presence in the area. Police continue to investigate and are actively monitoring the situation.
