YOUTH CHARGED AFTER ASSAULT ON FAMILY MEMBERS

(MISSISSIPPI MILLS, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following a report of abuse in Mississippi Mills Township.
Lanark County OPP officers responded to a residence on Thursday, May 14, 2026, after receiving a complaint about family members being assaulted in their home.
As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old male, has been charged with:
- Assault causing bodily harm - two counts
- Assault - two counts
- Assault with a weapon - two counts
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Youth Court of Justice at a later date.
The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the accused who is a young person.
