(CARLETON PLACE, ON) - The Lanark Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a robbery in Carleton Place.

Lanark County OPP was called to a business on Townline Road at approximately 11:30 pm on September 27, 2025, when it was reported that a robbery had taking place. Two men entered the business and threatened the employee. The males fled with alcohol, cigarettes, and various food items.

One male was identified and later arrested.

John MCDONALD, 38-years-old, is charged with:

  • Robbery with violence
  • Fail to comply with probation order

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and was remanded to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, September 29, 2025

Lanark County OPP is continuing the investigation and working to identify and arrest the second male.
