COLLISION LEADS TO CHARGES

(LEAMINGTON, ON) - One person has been charged following a collision in Leamington.
On June 3, 2026, at approximately 5:44 pm, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision on Highway 77 near Mersea Road 5 in the Municipality of Leamington that caused a temporary road closure on Highway 77.
The driver and passenger of one involved vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
A 24-year-old male of Leamington was charged with the following Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act offences:
- Careless driving causing bodily harm (two counts)
- Drive motor vehicle - no licence
- Fail to have insurance card
The accused was scheduled to appear Court on August 31, 2026, to answer to the charges.
