(ESSEX COUNTY, ON) - Members of the Ontario Provincial Police Essex County Detachment Offender Management Apprehension Program (OMAP) have arrested and charged an individual for violating court-ordered release conditions.

On May 11, 2026, members of the Essex County OPP OMAP team arrested a 61-year-old male from Essex County who had previously been charged in March 2026 with sexual assault related offences and was subsequently released on bail with conditions.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, the accused was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court

The accused was held for a bail hearing and was remanded into custody.

The OPP Offender Management Apprehension Program (OMAP) is a proactive strategy to monitor and manage high-risk and repeat offenders. OMAP enhances community safety by ensuring individuals on bail, probation, or other court-ordered release conditions comply with those conditions through compliance checks and enforcement initiatives.
