OPP MAKES SEVERAL IMPAIRED RELATED ARRESTS OVER WEEKEND

(ESSEX COUNTY, ON) - Numerous drivers were arrested for impaired related offences in Essex County over the weekend.
On Saturday January 31, 2026, at approximately 10:13 pm, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted traffic stop on County Road 20 near Union Avenue in the Town of Kingsville.
Antonio BATISTA JR, 62-years-old of Kingsville, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous operation
The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Windsor on March 17, 2026, to answer to the charges.
At approximately 10:15 pm, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted traffic stop on Grandview Boulevard in the Municipality of Lakeshore.
Dane WEIDEMANN, 22-years-old of Windsor was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Dangerous Operation
The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Windsor on March 6, 2026, to answer to the charges.
On February 1, 2026, at approximately 12:36 am, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Erie Street South in the Municipality of Leamington.
Brett CLIFFORD, 25-years-old of Leamington was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Windsor on March 17, 2026, to answer to the charges.
At approximately 1:38 am, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Renaud Line Road in the Municipality of Lakeshore.
Mathieu LALANDE, 19-years-old of Belle River was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous operation
- Novice Driver - B.A.C. above zero
The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Windsor on March 12, 2026, to answer to the charges.
At approximately 3:57 am, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a motorized snowmobile on Rourke Line Road in the Municipality of Lakeshore.
Colton O’BRIEN, 24-years-old of Belle River was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous Operation
The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Windsor on March 19, 2026, to answer to the charges.
At approximately 12:36 pm, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision on County Road 22 and Lesperance Road in the Town of Tecumseh.
Nicklaus DIMU, 32-years-old of Windsor was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code and Liquor Licence Contral Act offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Windsor on March 16, 2026, to answer to the charges.
At approximately 8:40 pm, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a vehicle in a snowbank on Oakwood Avenue near I.C. Roy Drive in the Municipality of Lakeshore.
Jaskunwarpreet BHATTI, 50-years-old of Belle River was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Windsor on March 10, 2026, to answer to the charges.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute for all charged drivers.
