SEVERAL CHARGES FOR E-BIKE DRIVER

(KINGSVILLE, ON) - One person has been charged following traffic violations in Kingsville.
On May 1, 2026, at approximately 3:30 pm, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) witnessed an electric bike (e-bike) travelling at high speeds through town and failing to stop at the stop signs on Queen Street at Stewart Street and Stewart Street at Division Street in the Town of Kingsville.
The driver and the e-bike was located at an establishment on Wigle Ave where he was previously served a trespass notice to not attend.
Brett Lee Murdoch MADDEN, 47-years-old of Kingsville was arrested and charged with the following Trespass to Property Act, Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences:
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Disobey stop sign - fail to stop (two counts)
- Fail to wear proper helmet on power-assisted bicycle
- Enter premises when entry prohibited
- Engage in prohibited activity on premises
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Windsor on June 11, 2026, to answer to the charges.
