TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO MULTIPLE CHARGES

(TECUMSEH, ON) - One person has been charged following a traffic stop in Tecumseh.
On May 5, 2026, at approximately 7:24 am, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a parked vehicle on Manning Road at the Highway 401 overpass in the Town of Tecumseh.
Vasikaran MANIKARASA, 44-years-old of Pickering was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code, Liquor Licence Act and Highway Traffic Act offences:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Park on highway - interfere with traffic
- Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available
- Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
- Fail to notify change of address
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Windsor on June 18, 2026, to answer to the charges.
