OPP EXECUTES SEARCH WARRANT IN LAKESHORE

Two Individuals Charged

(LAKESHORE, ON) - Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged two individuals in the Municipality of Lakeshore after executing a search warrant.

On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at approximately 10:00 am, search warrants were executed at a residence on Puce Road by members of the Essex County and Lambton County OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), Windsor Police Target Base Unit and the Canine Unit Vinny and his handler.

Total value of located stolen property which included motorcycles and a vehicle and suspected drugs during the execution of the warrant exceeded $75000.

As a result of the warrants, two individuals were taken into custody without incident.

James LARAMIE, 44 years old of Belle River, was charged with the following offences:

  • Possess property obtained by crime under $5000 - in Canada (four counts)
  • Possess property obtained by crime over $5000 - in Canada (two counts)
  • Altering, destroying, removing a vehicle identification number (VIN)

David NELSON, 41 years old of Belle River, was charged with the following offences:

  • Possess property obtained by crime under $5000 - in Canada
  • Possess property obtained by crime over $5000 - in Canada (four counts)
  • Altering, destroying, removing a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance - Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking - Methamphetamine
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order (six counts)
  • Fail to comply with probation order

Both accused were held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.
