Roads Now Re-Opened

(LEAMINGTON, ON) - The Leamington Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 3 and County Road 31, at the border of the Town of Kingsville and the Municipality of Leamington.

On March 9, 2026, at approximately 10:10 am, emergency services including members of the Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services, and Kingsville and Leamington Fire Services attended Highway 3 and County Road 31 for a three-vehicle collision.

One passenger was transported to hospital in ambulance with life-threatening injuries. Four other occupants sustained minor injuries and were transported to hospital.

The Ontario Provincial Police Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Unit attended to investigate and have since left the scene.

Highway 3 closed between County Rd. 34 - Morse Rd.; County Rd. 31 closed between County Rd. 18 - Mersea Rd. 3 was also closed during the investigation but have since been re-opened.

Investigators would like to speak to anyone who may have observed the collision or who may have dashcam footage of the collision.
