TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO SEVERAL CHARGES

(LEAMINGTON, ON) - One person has been charged following a traffic stop in Leamington.
On May 10, 2026, at approximately 2:25 am, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a vehicle stop on Talbot Street West near Erie Street South in the Municipality of Leamington.
Daniel PINOARGOTE-JIJON, 35-years-old of Kingsville was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code, Canadian Cannabis Act and Highway Traffic Act offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Turn - not in safety
- Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Windsor on June 18, 2026, to answer to the charges.
