TRAFFIC COMPLAINT LEADS TO SEVERAL CHARGES

(LEAMINGTON, ON) - One person has been charged following a traffic complaint in Leamington.
On May 26, 2026, at approximately 11:58 pm, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a traffic complaint on Talbot Road East in the Municipality of Leamington.
Dakota SIMPSON, 28-years-old of Wheatley was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code, Liquor Licence and Control Act, Cannabis Control Act, Highway Traffic Act and Controlled Drug and Substances Act offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance - Cocaine
- Driving while under suspension
- Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Windsor on July 7, 2026, to answer to the charges.
