SPEED ENFORCEMENT ON HIGHWAY 3 LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE

(TECUMSEH, ON) - On August 30, 2025, at approximately 7:50pm, a member of the Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 3 near Sexton Sideroad in the Town of Tecumseh.

The officer observed a vehicle travelling at a speed of 125 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone, activated emergency lights and conducted a traffic stop. Upon speaking to the driver, the officer determined that the driver had previously consumed alcohol.

As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to a local detachment for further testing.

Caroline HUMPHREY, 29-years-old, of Windsor, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), - Dangerous Operation

The accused is scheduled to appear on September 10, 2025, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor to answer to the charges.

A 90-day administrative drivers licence suspension and 7-day vehicle impoundment were issued as per statute.
