ASSAULT ON WALPOLE ISLAND RESULTS IN ARREST

(WALPOLE ISLAND FIRST NATION, ON) - The Walpole Island Police Service has charged one individual following an assault.
On July 30, 2025, at approximately 2:20 pm, Walpole Island Police Service along with Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault at the intersection of Old Ferry Road and Union Hall Road.
It was determined that the victim was assaulted with an edged weapon and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The accused was located at a nearby residence and arrested without incident.
As a result of the investigation, Jared WILLIAMS, a 30-year-old of Walpole Island First Nation was charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Mischief - destroys or damages property
- Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
- Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court
The accused remains in police custody and is being held pending a bail hearing. They are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia.
