DRIVER ARRESTED AFTER TWO-VEHICLE COLLISION

(SARNIA, ON) - An individual is facing charges following a two-vehicle collision in the City of Sarnia.
On February 2, 2026, shortly after 5:00 pm, members of Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision at the intersection of Modeland Road at Wellington Street in Sarnia, where one driver failed to remain at the scene.
There were no injuries reported.
As a result of the investigation, Franklin FRENCH, a 48-year-old of Chippewas of the Thames First Nation was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Failure to stop after accident
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused was release from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 16, 2026, in the City of Sarnia.
