(ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP, ON) - One person has been charged after failing to stop for a school bus in St. Clair Township during the “Safety Stops Here” school bus safety initiative.

On March 3, 2026, shortly before 3:00 pm members of the Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting traffic enforcement when they observed a motor vehicle fail to stop for a school bus in St. Clair Township.

The driver, a 75-year-old St. Clair Township resident was charged with the offence of fail to stop for school bus-signal lights-meeting contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused was issued Provincial Offence Notices in relation to the charge and released from the scene. The accused will have fifteen days to decide if they will pay the fine, contest the charges in provincial court or meet with the prosecutor to discuss early resolution.
