(LAMBTON SHORES, ON) - Members of the Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to assist in an ongoing investigation following a water emergency at the Pinery Provincial Park in the Municipality of Lambton Shores.

On May 18, 2026, at approximately 3:00 pm, Lambton OPP responded to Pinery Provincial Park after receiving reports of a raft carrying five individuals experiencing distress in Lake Huron.

Two individuals were able to safely swim to shore, while two others returned to the raft. One individual remains outstanding.

Lambton OPP, with the assistance from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC), continues coordinated search efforts in the area.

There are currently no concerns for public safety.

Members of the public can expect to see an increased police and emergency services presence in the area while emergency crews remain on scene.

Out of respect for everyone involved and the ongoing investigation, limited information is being released at this time.
