DRUG TRAFFICKING INVESTIGATION LEADS TO ARREST

(ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP, ON) - An individual has been charged following a drug trafficking investigation that began in April 2026.
On May 20, 2026, members of the Lambton County Detachment Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with assistance from the Middlesex and Brant CSCUs, West Region OPP Canine Unit, and Lambton County OPP uniform members, conducted a traffic stop on St. Clair Parkway as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.
A search warrant was subsequently executed at a residence in Corunna.
Police seized a quantity of suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, Canadian and U.S. currency, and other offence-related property.
The estimated value of the drugs, currency, and offence-related property seized exceeds $29,000.
As a result of the investigation, Ozan MEHMET, a 42-year-old of Milton, has been charged under the Controlled drugs and Substances Act, the Criminal Code, and the Highway Traffic Act with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for purpose of trafficking-Fentanyl
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for purpose of trafficking-Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for purpose of trafficking-Methamphetamine
- Obstruct Peace Officer
- Driving while under suspension
The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently released from custody. They are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on July 8, 2026.
