(LAMBTON, ON) The Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is warning the public following a recent fraud involving Apple gift cards and a lottery scam, which resulted in a local residence losing $13,000.
On March 17, 2026, shortly after 10:00 am, member of the Lambton County OPP was contacted regarding a fraud complaint. A local resident report they had been victimized after being contacted by an individual claiming to represent a lottery commission.
The victim was advised they had won a vehicle and in order to claim the prize, were required to make payment using Apple gift cards. The victim complied; however, no prize was received and all communication with the suspect ceased.
