ELECTRIC BICYCLE OPERATOR CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING

(PLYMPTON-WYOMING, ON) - An individual is charged after operating an electric bicycle while impaired.
On April 24, 2026, just after 2:00 pm, members of the Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting general patrol when they initiated a traffic stop in a parking lot on Oil Heritage Road, north of London Line.
As a result of the investigation, further testing was required, and a member of the Chatham-Kent Police Service assisted.
As a result, Roy WEATHERHEAD, 52-year-old of Sarnia, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on May 28, 2026.
