DRIVER FACING CHARGES AFTER ALPR ALERT

(ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP, ON) - A driver has been charged following a traffic stop in St. Clair Township.
On March 7, 2026, just after 1:30 am, members of the Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop at Hill Street and Nash Drive in St. Clair Township after they were alerted by the Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) of a possible unlicensed driver.
As a result of the investigation, Shayne MCILVEEN, a 32-year-old of Sarnia, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the offence of failure or refusal to comply with demand.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on March 24, 2026.
