SIU Invokes Mandate
(ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP, ON) - Police are investigating a two-vehicle collision involving a police vehicle in St. Clair Township, where the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate.
On Friday, February 13, 2026, at approximately 4:20 pm, members from the Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with fire and emergency medical services responded to a collision involving a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and an OPP cruiser at the intersection of Petrolia Line and Kimball Road.
The two members of the Lambton County OPP Mobile Crisis Response Team, consisting of an officer and a crisis worker, who were in the police vehicle, as well as the driver of the SUV, were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Petrolia Line is currently closed from Tecumseh Road to Waubuno Road and Kimball Road is closed from Rokeby Line to LaSalle Line. The road will be closed for several hours for the investigation.
