LAMBTON OPP SEIZE LARGE QUANTITY OF CANNABIS DURING TRAFFIC STOP

(LAMBTON SHORES, ON) - A traffic stop in the Municipality of Lambton Shores has resulted in cannabis charges.
On May 15, 2026, shortly after 11:00 am, a member of the Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received an Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) alert regarding a vehicle travelling on Nauvoo Road near Brickyard Line.
A traffic stop was initiated on Rawlings Road near Townsend Line. During the investigation, the driver was arrested on an outstanding warrant. As a result of the investigation, officers searched the vehicle and located a large quantity of cannabis.
As a result, a 65-year-old individual from Ancaster has been charged under the Cannabis Act and the Cannabis Control Act with the following offences:
- Distribute over 30g of dried cannabis
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on June 24, 2026.
