(PLYMPTON-WYOMING, ON) - An individual has been charged following a disturbance at a rest stop in Plympton-Wyoming.

On February 9, 2026, shortly after 9:15 pm, members of the Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance involving two individuals at a rest area on Highway 402 westbound.

As a result of the incident, minor injuries were reported.

The investigation revealed that pepper spray was deployed during the disturbance.

As a result of the investigation, Shawn TINUS, 48-year-old from Leamington, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with Assault with a weapon.

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Sarnia on March 5, 2026
