TRAFFIC COMPLAINT LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVER

(ENNISKILLEN TOWNSHIP, ON) - A traffic complaint has led to an individual being arrested for impaired driving.
On January 20, 2026, just after 5:00 pm, the Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible impaired driver.
Police located the involved vehicle on Petrolia Line, west of Marthaville road, where a traffic stop was initiated.
As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old individual of Sarnia, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous operation
- Abandoning child
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on February 23, 2026, in Sarnia.
