ARREST MADE AT SCENE OF BREAK AND ENTER

(LAURENTIAN VALLEY TWP, ON) - The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges against an individual after a recent break and enter.
On March 9, 2026, at approximately 8:40 am, officers from the UOV OPP responded to a break and enter in progress at an unoccupied apartment in Laurentian Valley Township. Police arrested a man at the scene and seized a balaclava, hammer and gloves.
As a result of this incident 38-year-old Corey POPKIE of Pembroke was charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:
- Break and enter a place - commit indictable offence
- Possession of break in instruments
- Fail to comply with probation order - three counts
The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on March 10, 2026.
