(PETAWAWA, ON) - A school bus driver is facing a charge under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) after the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a two-vehicle collision involving a school bus and an SUV.
The UOV OPP were called to the collision at the intersection of Petawawa Boulevard and Doran Road at approximately 8:00 am on February 12, 2026. Investigation found that the school bus rear-ended an SUV at the intersection. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and tow trucks were not required.
The bus driver, a 58-year-old from Petawawa, has been charged with following too closely under the HTA. There were no reported injuries from the occupants of either vehicle.
