SEVERAL CHARGES LAID AFTER INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE INVESTIGATION

(BONNECHERE VALLEY TWP, ON) - Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid several Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) related Criminal Code (CC) charges against an area resident.
On February 13, 2026, at approximately 9:45 pm, UOV OPP officers responded to a domestic dispute involving threats at a residence in Bonnechere Valley Township (BVT). Investigation found that an assault had occurred, personal property had been damaged and threats had been made. Police arrested one individual at the scene. The investigation included recent events and a historical IPV event that took place in the Fall of 2025 at a residence in BVT.
As a result of this investigation a 30-year-old from BVT is charged with the following CC offences:
- Assault - spousal
- Mischief - damages or destroys property - two counts
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm - two counts
The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on a future date.
