DRIVER CHARGED AFTER TRAFFIC COMPLAINT ON HIGHWAY 17

(WHITEWATER REGION TWP., ON) - The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver after traffic complaint on Highway 17.
On May 16, 2026, just after 3:30 pm, OPP received a traffic complaint of an erratic driver in Highway 17 in Whitewater Region Township. The vehicle was located a short time later. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.
Jonathan DOBROWOLSKI, 41 years old, of Gatineau has been charged with operation while impaired.
The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on June 16, 2026.
