INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE INVESTIGATION LEADS TO ASSAULT CHARGE

(PEMBROKE, ON) - The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid an intimate partner violence related assault charge against a Pembroke resident. The investigation began on January 16, 2026, at approximately 5:30 pm, after a witness reported an assault involving a couple that were spectators at an arena in the City of Pembroke.
As a result of this investigation a 38-year-old from Pembroke was arrested at the scene and charged with spousal assault under the Criminal Code. The victim was not seriously injured.
The accused was released with a future court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.
