(PEMBROKE, ON) - A local resident is facing charges after an impaired driving investigation in the City of Pembroke resulted in the seizure of suspected cocaine.

On April 23, 2026, at approximately 9:50 pm members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated an occupied parked vehicle in Pembroke. Officers spoke with the driver and entered into an impaired driving investigation. A quantity of suspected cocaine was seized by police during the investigation.

As a result of this incident 38-year-old Paula AUDETTE of Pembroke has been charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) offences:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Possession of a schedule I substance - cocaine

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was released and is scheduled appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on May 19, 2026.
