QUEBEC RESIDENT FACING IMPAIRED CHARGES

(NORTH ALGONA-WILBERFORCE TWP, ON) - Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a Quebec resident with impaired driving offences after a recent investigation.
On January 17, 2026, at approximately 7:45 pm, police responded after a vehicle in the ditch was reported on Mink Lake Road in North Algona-Wilberforce Township. The driver was not injured, and the vehicle did not sustain any significant damage. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.
As a result of this incident 37-year-old Jesse-Rae BOWMAN of Fort Coulonge, QC, is charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus
The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. They were released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on February 10, 2026.
