DRIVER CHARGED AFTER REFUSAL AT RIDE CHECK

(PEMBROKE, ON) - A Pembroke resident has been charged following a RIDE check on Pembroke St. East in the City of Pembroke.
On May 16, 2026, at approximately 12:15 am, members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE check. While speaking to a driver as part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized.
Lelouch EKUBAN-OUTLAW, 38 years old, of Pembroke, was charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand.
The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on June 8, 2026.
