Boat Located and Returned to Owner, Charges Laid

(MADAWASKA VALLEY TWP, ON) - Officers with the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located a boat and trailer that was stolen on April 26, 2026, from a property in Madawaska Valley Township.

On Thursday April 30, 2026, police were called by a Paugh Lake Road landowner who located an abandoned boat and trailer on their property. Police confirmed that the boat and trailer were previously reported stolen and the stolen items were returned to the owner. Further investigation led to an arrest later that afternoon.

As a result of this incident 43-year-old Patrick REES of North Algona-Wilberforce Township has been charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offence:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Pembroke on June 1, 2026.
