WANTED INDIVIDUAL ARRESTED IN PETAWAWA

(PETAWAWA, ON) - Officers with the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) recently arrested an individual wanted on a bench warrant since September 2024 in relation to a prior Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) incident. A bench warrant is an arrest warrant issued by a judge or justice when an accused person fails to appear for a scheduled court date.
On Wednesday April 8, 2026, UOV OPP Offender Management and Apprehension Program (OMAP) officers, with assistance from the OPP Bail Support Team and UOV OPP uniform officers, executed an arrest warrant during a traffic stop in Petawawa. Investigation found that release conditions had also been been breached.
A 41-year-old from Pembroke was taken into custody without incident and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Failure to comply with undertaking - two counts
The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently released to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on a future date. Due to the IPV component of this investigation, the name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
