INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE INVESTIGATION LEADS TO ASSAULT CHARGES

(PEMBROKE, ON) - Officers with the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) related assault charges against a Pembroke resident. The investigation began on March 3, 2026, at approximately 5:00 pm, after a report of a domestic dispute at a residence in Pembroke.
As a result of this investigation a 28-year-old from Pembroke was arrested at the scene and charged with spousal assault and assault with a weapon under the Criminal Code. The victim was not seriously injured.
The accused was released with a future court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.
