(BONNECHERE VALLEY TWP., ON.) - The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver with impaired after an altercation with police.

On August 30, 2025, just after 10:00 pm, OPP officers were dealing with a complaint on Bruce St. in the Township of Bonnechere Valley. During the interaction with police the party fled on foot. A short foot pursuit and altercation ensued. The party was arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

Justin YEAS, 30 years old, of Eganville was charged with impaired operation.

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. They were released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on September 22, 2025.
