A YOUTH FROM NORTH MIDDLESEX IS FACING MULTIPLE FRAUD CHARGES

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) - A youth from North Middlesex is facing multiple charges after separate fraud investigations in Parkhill.
On January 13, 2026, at 9:42 am, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address on John Street, in Parkhill, the Municipality of North Middlesex, for the report of a fraud. Investigation revealed the victims debit card had been fraudulently used by an unknown individual totalling nearly $1,000 in expenses.
On January 23, 2026, at 11:16 am, members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to an address on Duke Street in Parkhill, for the report of a fraud, where investigation revealed the victims debit card had been fraudulently used by an unknown individual totalling nearly $2,000 in expenses.
As a result, members of the Middlesex County Integrated Fraud Awareness and Response Initiative (IFARI) were engaged to assist with the investigations.
As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old of Parkhill, was identified and has been charged under the criminal code with:
- Fraud Under $5000 (two counts)
- Use of Credit Card (two counts)
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 (two counts)
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in London at a future date to speak to the charges.
The youth’s identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
The Integrated Fraud Awareness and Response Initiative (IFARI) was recently created by the OPP specifically to combat the rise and ever-increasing complexity in Fraud incidents and provide assistance to frontline officers.
