TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE ON HIGHWAY 401

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) - Driver facing impaired charge after traffic stop on Highway 401.
On July 8, 2025, at 5:10 pm, a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol in the Eastbound lanes of Highway 401 at Dorchester Road in the Municipality of Thames Centre, observed a suspicious vehicle, at which time a traffic stop was initiated.
The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.
As a result, Nicholas SKIPPON, a 26-year-old of Burlington, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous Operation
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on August 28, 2025.
