OPP RIDE PROGRAM LEADS TO MULTIPLE CHARGES FOR DRIVER

(LONDON, ON) - Driver facing multiple charges as a result of OPP RIDE Program.
On March 26, 2026, at 12:48 am, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were engaged in a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Highway 401 at Wellington Road in the City of London.
A vehicle entered the RIDE program at which time a traffic stop was initiated, however the vehicle fled from officers at a high rate of speed.
The driver was eventually identified at which time a warrant was sought for their arrest.
With the assistance of the OPP Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad, the accused was located and arrested on March 26, 2026, at approximately 1:40 pm, in St. Thomas.
As a result, Abdullah YOUSSEF, a 33-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Cannabis Control Act with:
- Flight from peace officer
- Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code (11 Counts)
- Driving while under suspension
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
The accused was held for bail.
