TRAFFIC STOP ON HIGHWAY 401 LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVER

(LONDON, ON) - Driver facing Impaired charge after traffic stop on Highway 401.
On April 3, 2026, at 7:31 pm, a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 near Highbury Avenue in the City of London, observed a suspicious vehicle.
A traffic stop was initiated at which time the driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.
As a result, Javier FOSTER, a 48-year-old of Toronto has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Speeding 1 - 49 Km/h over posted limit
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in London to speak to the charges on May 19, 2026.
