(LONDON, ON) - Driver facing Impaired driving charge after collision on Highway 401.

On January 26, 2026, at 8:58 am, a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while travelling westbound on Highway 401 in the City of London near Highbury Avenue, observed a vehicle lose control and collide with the concrete barrier.

There were no injuries reported.

As a result, Amy NICHOL, a 36-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired - Alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in London to speak to the charges on February 25, 2026.
