SEARCH WARRANT RESULTS IN DRUG AND FIREARM CHARGES

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) - Search warrant executed in Thames Centre results in drug and firearm related charges.
On January 28, 2026, members of the Elgin-Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), OPP Canine (K9), OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Middlesex County OPP executed a search warrant at an address on Minnie Street in Dorchester, Municipality of Thames Centre.
CSCU members seized illicit drugs, suspected to be cocaine, methamphetamine, oxycodone and hydromorphone, as well as a loaded handgun, ammunition and a large sum of Canadian currency.
Ashley JOHNSTONE, a 42-year-old of Dorchester, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled drugs and Substances Act with:
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of a Firearm knowing Serial Number has been Tampered With
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 - in Canada
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other drugs (two counts)
Kristina SZABO, a 38-year-old of Dorchester, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled drugs and Substances Act with:
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of a Firearm knowing Serial Number has been Tampered With
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 - in Canada
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other drugs (two counts)
The accused were held for bail.
A third individual remains outstanding and a warrant is being sought for their arrest.
