TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVER

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) - Driver facing Impaired charge after traffic stop.
On January 18, 2026, at 1:49 am, a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol in the Municipality of Thames Centre, observed a suspicious vehicle on Dundas Street.
A traffic stop was initiated at which time the driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.
As a result, Abhay SINGH, a 25-year-old of Thamesford has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Possess more than one licence
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on February 26, 2026.
