TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO IMPAIRED AND TRAFFICKING CHARGES

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) - Traffic stop results in impaired and drug trafficking charges for driver.
On December 13, 2025, at 3:21 am, a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401, Municipality of Thames Centre, performed a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle.
The driver was placed under arrest, at which time a quantity of illicit drugs was located and seized.
As a result, Giovanni JERVIS, a 25-year-old of St. Catharines, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled drugs, Substances Act and Cannabis Control Act with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin)
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis in open baggage
The accused was held for bail.
