SUDDEN DEATH INVESTIGATION IN CHIPPEWAS OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION

(CHIPPEWAS OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) - Members of the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Police along with Middlesex County OPP are investigating a sudden death in Chippewas of the Thames First Nation.
On May 7, 2026, at 2:58 am, members of the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation police, Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Oneida Nation Fire Department were dispatched to Jubilee Road at Mount Elgin Road, Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, for the report of a vehicle fire.
An individual was located deceased within the vehicle.
As a result, members of the Middlesex County Crime Unit and the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Office of the Fire Marshal became engaged.
The roads were closed for hours as members of the Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team attended to assist with the investigation. The road has since opened.
The investigation is continuing.
