OPP RIDE PROGRAM LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE FOR DRIVER

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) - Driver charged with impaired as a result of OPP RIDE Program in Thames Centre.
On April 11, 2026, at 7:00 pm, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were engaged in a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Hamilton Road in the Municipality of Thames Centre.
A vehicle entered the RIDE program at which time a traffic stop was initiated.
As a result, Christopher MARTIN, a 43-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Cannabis Control Act with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous Operation
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in London on May 27, 2026, to speak to the charges.
