DRIVER FACING IMPAIRED CHARGE AFTER ALPR ALERT

(LONDON, ON) - Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system assists officer in stopping and charging a driver with impaired.
On April 4, 2026, at 2:15 am, a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol on Dundas Street at Veterans Memorial Parkway in the City of London, was alerted by the Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system, of a possible suspended driver.
A traffic stop was initiated.
Investigation revealed the driver was not the registered owner of the vehicle, however the driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.
As a result, Ethan PETERS, a 22-year-old of Burlington, has been charged under Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in London on May 7, 2026, to speak to the charges.
