TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVER

(LONDON, ON) - Driver facing Impaired charge after traffic stop.
On April 7, 2026, at 3:52 am, a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division (HSD) while on general patrol in the westbound lanes of Highway 401 near Highbury Avenue, observed a suspicious vehicle.
A traffic stop was initiated at which time the driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.
As a result, Gino PECORELLI, a 26-year-old of London has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on May 11, 2026.
